Palm Springs is the largest city tucked away in Riverside County, California. It lies on the western edge of the Coachella Valley.

You can find the spring in the Sonoran Desert with the weather temperature typically varies from 45*F to 106*F. It is recommended to visit Palm Springs between January and April when the weather is hospitable and fully enjoy the outdoor fun in the land of Palm Springs.

Long before the area was called “Palm Springs,” it was referred to as Se-Khi (boiling water) and was founded by the native Cahuilla Indian tribe. They were the first humans to settle in the area.

The Cahuilla Indians inhabited the canyons of Palm Springs 2,000 years ago. The streets and areas were named after their surnames, such as Andreas, Arenas, Amado, Belardo, Saturnino, and Chino.

Palm Springs became a health resort in the 1900s and was incorporated as a City in 1938. Also known as a hideaway for some of the famous Hollywood stars in the past.

It is only two hours from Los Angeles and San Diego. Some people built their second home. The city is diverse, with many outdoor activities.

Attractions

Palm Springs has an ideal, tourist-friendly flanked by high forested mountains that provide scenic surroundings.

A mountain haven located in Coachella Valley. Bernardino Mountains shelter it to the north, the Santa Rosa Mountains to the south, the San Jacinto Mountains to the west, and the Little San Bernardino Mountains to the east.

San Jacinto

San Jacinto is the tallest mountain among the four, and the view from the top is spectacular that flaunts the beauty of the Palm Springs area, and it provides stunning views in every direction. It was named after Saint Hyacinth.

It will take approximately 5–6 Hours from Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Hike to Mt. San Jacinto. It is worth the effort to climb this mountain with its surprising vast temperature, the glorious views at the top, and fantastic nature smell.

Many wealthy and famous people are drawn to this place. Palm Springs is known for its hot spring, golf courses, spas, restaurants, stylish hotels, and resorts.

Some hotels and resorts offer a luxurious place to stay and make this desert a welcoming retreat for everyone and winter warm-weather seekers, with stunning mid-century modern vacation homes and an excellent restaurant scene.

The main road is a seemingly endless series of expensive houses, and green golf courses, all interspersed by tall palm trees and other desert plants.

Palm Springs is also rich in waterfalls. It is a hiker’s paradise with a diverse landscape, miles of trails waiting to be explored. Each of the Indian Canyons is located within the Agua Caliente Indian Reservation land.

Tahquitz Canyon

Tahquitz Canyon is one of the most beautiful and culturally sensitive areas. It has a spectacular seasonal 60-foot waterfall, rock art, ancient irrigation systems, and artifacts.

You can also test your rock-climbing skills and gain some elevation with your strength through Joshua Tree National Park, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced climber.

You can get an up-close look at the wildlife at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. Feed a giraffe, watch the cheetahs run, admire the zebras, mimic a meerkat, interact with goats, explore nature, and so much more.

If you are looking for more of an adventure out in the desert, you can do many fun outdoor activities in Palm Springs.

Palm Springs has everything to offer, from the desert adventure, desert zoo and gardens, beautiful mountains to hike, and its natural beauty in many forms. Indeed, unique pleasures are everywhere. It has a mid-century modern style and warm weather popular for winter destinations.
