Minneapolis, Minnesota

Minneapolis’s name was derived from the Sioux word minne, meaning “water,” and the Greek polis, for “city.” Have you ever wondered what this city has to offer?

Follow along with me in this video as I drive you through some places in Minnesota and St. Paul or the Twin Cities.

Minneapolis

People who experienced Minneapolis have a mixed bag of emotions and feedback about the city.

Some would say that it is a boring place to live in, while some turned out to be a content and happy dweller. Basically, like any other city, Minneapolis is not perfect, but it is absolutely a great place.

Did you know that Minneapolis is one of the cleanest cities in America? Just imagine how disciplined Minnesotans are when it comes to cleanliness.

Each one of them does their part in making things tidy or at least hang on to that litter until they find a trash can nearby.

Cooperation in this aspect means a lot to them. That is the reason why Minneapolis deserves to be ranked as one of the cleanest cities in the US.

This city is infamous for its cold winters. The climate is cool but humid during warm summers. But no matter what the weather is, it still doesn’t bother the people at all.

The bars and restaurants are full and packed with customers, not until restrictions were implemented due to the pandemic.

Minneapolis is where you can find many lakes and parks. They say that it has 22 lakes and lagoons and some 170 parks in Minneapolis. Some of the city’s most beautiful homes are built around the lakes.

Also, canoes and kayaks are for rent in several locations if you plan to take a scenic-view of their lakes and lagoons.

Getting close contact with nature is one of the fondest things I do whenever I see such a beautiful place like this.

Relaxing and just waiting for the sun to go down is just amazing.

Yes, this city is occasionally frigid, but I think bearable provided that you are appropriately geared up for the winter cold and, most of all, can keep up on several months of consistently freezing temperatures and little sunlight.

It is probably the best city in Minnesota. The Twin Cities are well connected, surrounded by lakes and parks on the side.

It feels good living in a town while embracing nature at the same time.

St. Paul

St. Paul became the capital of Minnesota in 1849. The city is adjacent to Minneapolis on the west, which became the Twin Cities.

As you can see, there is the Cathedral of St. Paul. It sits on Cathedral Hill overlooking downtown St. Paul.

It is the Apostle Paul’s National Shrine by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Vatican. St. Paul Cathedral is one of the attractions you can check in the city.

The Minnesota State Capitol is where you can find the Minnesota governor, Supreme Court, Senate, and House of Representatives. This capitol building was designed by Cass Gilbert over 100 years ago, which is Minnesota’s own nationally-acclaimed.

Also, it ranks among the most beautiful and majestic of the nation’s capitol buildings.

Not to mention, St. Paul is a major center for education, health care, government, financial, and industrial aspects.

People in Minnesota value education a lot, and this is why St. Paul is where you can find institutions of higher education.

The aerial view of the city during the day and night is truly breathtaking. My eyes were glued, and cannot stop taking photos and videos of it.

I suggest that you experience the place, the weather, food, and everything. I’m sure that you’ll not get enough of it yourself.
